about

Too Hairy for the Fringe - Oscar's Overblown Concept Gig!

As part of their one show "Don't Stop 'till ya Flop" world tour, Oscar played their Overblown Concept Gig at 303 on Saturday the 22nd of November 2003.

Featuring an expanded lineup, with a guest junk percussionist and more horns than half a cow, Oscar dazzled and beguiled the crowd with their ridiculously inappropriate mix of pseudo jazz, junk funk and anti-pop.

Fortunately someone was foolhardy enough to record the proceedings and this seventeen track album was the result.

about

Oscar the Band craft pseudo-jazz, junk funk and anti-pop with a keen sense of the inappropriate. Started in late 2000 as a 2 piece featuring guitar and trumpet, we got our name with the addition of a drummer who, not owning a kit, played rubbish bins.
